Kitesurfing holidays in Dakhla or El Gouna?

Sometimes it is difficult to choose your holiday destination and especially if you are looking for an active water sports vacation. If you want something exotic but not too far from Europe you probably came across 2 countries- Morocco and Egypt. Both countries have reliable wind all year round, spots with shallow water, established kitesurfing schools, great kitesurfing lessons and flights from main European capitals. Even Morocco and Egypt sound and look similar, they have some significant differences. In this article, we will compare some important aspects about kitesurfing in Dakhla and El Gouna.

DAKHLA

Location
The main kitesurfing spot is 25km. northeast from Dakhla airport.

The best thing about Dakhla is that most of the hotels are in front of the lagoon. You just jump out of the bed, grab all gear and kite. Besides, 25mins from the main kite spot you can find Foumbouir wave spot which is suitable for strapless kitesurfing and surfing.

SPOT

Dakhla lagoon is a massive 50km long, rideable at all tides, shallow, waist deep, flat-water lagoon. Also, there are some amazing wave spots on the other side of the peninsula. This flat water and wave combination provides an ultimate playground for all watersports.

At Dakhla lagoon you can do different downwinds:
